Draftkings Satellites & Qualifiers

This another game mode on Draftkings. But it is not as simple as the others. It’s quite confusing. But in this post, I will break down some Draftkings contests, being Satellites & Qualifiers. Let’s get to it.

Satellites & Qualifiers What Is It?

Satellites are where you join contest and earn tickets. These tickets can be used to join contest instead of cash. Qualifiers are when you have to win a game or games to qualify for a big cash game. These games are usually on the costly side in order to enter. You will need to have some serious cash saved up. The DFS Sharks will be there of course. But they can afford to lose a few hundred or thousands of dollars. I don’t think us regular people can afford to do it. So your fee will be paid off with your wins and you will be able to join and still win big.

In this image, you see where I have the content circled. Be sure to read that so you’ll see how the contest works and how the winner or winners will be rewarded. In this case, you will have to enter $300 dollars in order to win a $500K fantasy baseball challenge ticket. You must come in first out 30 people. The chances of winning in this contest are slim. But if you do consider yourself extremely lucky.

The qualifier winner for the $500K ticket I showed you at the top. Will be able to use that ticket here. You get here quite easily. These contest are usually promoted. In one of three huge boxes at the top of Draftkings homepage. It looks like this.

This is the format. It informs you on how you will play your opponents. It also lets you know how you will be eliminated. It states how many times you can qualify for that particular bracket. Finally,  the date when the final brackets will be announced.

It will also show you all of the people qualifying for that particular bracket. These are your opponents.

Do You Win Big In These Contest?

Yes, you win very big. It is almost like tournaments. But not as big and you are limited on your chances to win. In this case, you have head to head games. As long as you’re winning you go on to the next round. But once you lose. It’s a wrap and you get eliminated. It is better to lose in the beginning. Then to get deep in the contest and lose. I almost have had a couple of heart attacks because of that. If my walls could talk they would have some funny stories to tell about me and my fantasy sports experiences.

All You Win Is Tickets?

No, some contest pays out cash to the winners.

Like this one here. The top 3 get prizes. But the first two get $200 cash. Third get a step 4 ticket. Which they can use later on for a contest. It’s only 6 guys in this contest. In order to win something. You must come in the top 3. These games are usually a lot easier to cash in. You see that one guy in this contest already. See that’s one guy who knows his stuff. He has an NFL line up 25 days before the season even starts.

Satellites

Satellites are not the same as qualifiers. You will not win cash in a satellite game. You will only win tickets. That you can use to join games and win cash. They are usually tournament style games. They usually only reward a ticket to the 1st place winner. In some cases, they slide a 2nd place winner in the contest. But there is a thing called super satellites. In this, the playing field is huge and rewards a lot of tickets. It usually has over 1K+ entries in the game and payouts tickets to the top 250. Satellites also offer the little guys. A chance to swim with the big fish in those qualifier games. It makes it a lot of fun to be in there with those guys. Ten times out of ten you’ll lose. But you will learn tendencies and pick strategies from those guys. You will have your day.

In a nutshell all this contest does is help you get into higher entry fee contest or any contest. Without breaking the bank.
